Thank you Mehoose for your information and for the article links.
They are very interesting.

In my experience too, chrysoprase have been very stable despite its reputation for fading.
I mounted some for clients that lived by the beach in hot sunny climates and when I saw them years later, I did not notice any change in the color. These were both old German saturated chrysoprase and top Australian highly translucent material that I happen to be so found of...

I had a chrysoprase stone as a decoration in my window for years without it fading.

Excluding Diamond Hill mine amethysts mentioned by Amethystguy and maybe a few other rare exceptions, it is probably pretty safe to say that the fading of amethyst and chrysoprase worn in jewelry is not significant enough to be noticed.
