For over a year I have been writing a series of articles for my local Rock and Gem Club on Digital Photography for the Lapidary. The articles were serialized about once per month (with a few months missing for lack of space). I have put the current collection into a single document and it can be downloaded from my WEB site.

It is currently about 40 pages long, and give a considerable amount of information about digital cameras and potential set-up for desktop lighting of cabochons, slabs, jewelry, gemstones, etc. It is designed to be a "beginners guide" and a place to start to carry out your own experimentation.

I used much of this material in the class that I taught at William Holland.

Update - I finished the series of articles (20 in all) and have posted them as a single pdf paper, paper. It can be downloaded from my site at this address. It now include information on simple editing in either Photoshop Elements or Photoshop. (It does not cover work up from RAW files as it is a beginners guide.)
