:) this was interesting to me. wasn't aware ruby was found in greenland. there's a lot of history between the stone and "it's people," the native inuit greenlanders. i first read of the greenland ruby from pala's mineral and gemstone news today.

True North Gems has been at it for some time. I think I posted one of their news releases a few years back. As I understand it, they have yet to achieve commercial quantities of gem quality material.

P.S. Someone should tell whoever writes their copy that there's no such thing as a "northwestern hemisphere". ;)

The Cherokee Chief was 1070 and the Cherokee Princess was 686 cts. So not that large unless they mean really northern northwestern hemisphere. :D

Both from Cherokee Ruby and Sapphire Mine in Cowee Valley, NC. Sigh, but I cannot find a pic.

Nice going. I tried to get some material out of them previously and had no luck. You have the magic touch! :)

Oh Oh, sorry guys,

Sadly I'm no hero, true North aren't parting with anything. This was simply a cleaning job that I did for them. I have known John and Nick for many years.

I did get to play with it and I have seen some of their other goodies so I guess a tiny bit of envy is Ok.

Tony.
