I'd really hate to see anybody suffer for their craft literally, so it's really important to research the safety points that you need to monitor for yourself with handling stones and gems so that you can keep yourself safe. Most of the more commonly occurring safety points and advice is already here from the veterans, so I'd start there and of course, common sense helps too!

Funny, I was just reviewing my old posts. Purchasing gemological instruments this month in prep for classes. Looking at the foredom flex shaft to do the bulk of my stone work during studies. The UT V5 will enter after the year end. Tuitions first, toys later! Either of these tools will not present much of a safety hazard that can't be handled by PPE and a box of bandaids for those less attentive moments.
