After having received several certifications and various training programs, I am sadly led to ask about alternative careers. As finding a job in the industry seems to be limited, and my funds to start my own small business seems to be only more limited. I must ask does anyone know a career path that might be easy to transfer into, I considered geologist however, I have no funds to go back to college. Any advise would be welcomed with open arms. However please no bad mouthing.

I wish I was more help for you- I am sort of in the same boat, realizing that finding a job in this trade is hard and supporting yourself (and reinvesting in materials and supplies, completing my GG, etc.) on it from the start is nearly impossible. I am likely going to go back to school for a degree in Geology with the help of financial aid, but I have a mild head-start in Geology having studied it on my own a bit and a little in college before. I have other trades to fall back on as well, but even they are hard to get into these days- Even with prior experience. If it helps you, my plan of attack is just to go back to school to get a degree (maybe Geology) and go from there, in the meantime finding a steady job and steady paycheck to where I can be comfortable in my bills and support my jewelry and gem enterprises as a hobby and make a few extra bucks selling some stuff here and there. If something in the industry comes along, cool- i'll be better prepared for it too!! (Instead of scraping together pennies like I am now, let alone having the funds to relocate for a job). Eventually, I figure one thing is bound to happen first; I either find a great job in the industry doing these things I love, or i'll build myself an off-topic career and some surplus funds to do these things I love full-time and make it a business. I hope you find something and that some others here can perhaps give you (maybe us both) some advice.

Study as many components and content about gemology to develop a powerful essential understanding on this market of Technology. There is no simple and fast response to your query. The artificial rubies are indeed real rubies just not natural.Studying gemology needs time and research, same as any other self-discipline.
