Just had this topic come up.
What is your definition of gemmy?
I have always considered anything glassy as gemmy.
Even if I have, lets say a tourmaline crystal, thats not facetgrade or cuttable due to many inclusions or the glassy areas being to small to cut yet still being glassy with transparent areas I would still call it.... gemmy.
If it was gem grade, facetgrade, etc. I would call it such...not gemmy.
Sorry, silly semantics topic but wonder what others think

Gem-like. With (some of) the characteristics of a gem when pertaining to a mineral sample.

I have only heard the term gemmy in reference to a clear stone that looks good without a 10X loupe or depending on the type of stone, has too many inclusions to be "gem," but still has clarity or color(emerald or bixbite).

Peach
