helo there i am looking for assistance with gemstone. i would like to know how a red ruby can be transported legally with out violating any regulations safely to dubai,or malaysia for example,where i can sell it . what is the proper way of transporting it ? is it safe to just carry it in a hand bag and go through customs, or some one might get in to trouble for carrying precious stones like that? currently it is in east africa, where there is no major markets .for any assistance feel free to get in contact with me at removed by administrator all the best.

You should take the time to learn the legal import requirements for your country of destination. These are often available on the net these days. In any event they will be avaiable from the Commercial Attache's office (or similar) at that country's embassy in your country of residence. You also need to know from an authoritative source what the legal requirements are in respect to selling a high value item in your country of destination and any tax liability rising therefrom. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and ignorance will also put your fate in the hands of others.
You have to decide for yourself whether to obey laws or to risk heavy penalties - which may include imprisonment - for breaking them.
