I have read that calcite, in addition to being flourescent, may be phosphorescent. |

yes it keeps glowing in the dark for long hours.I have no ideas for the reason why it glows for long hours. |

That's one boulder to keep next to a sunny window... and the freak out when it glows back at you t sundown! Sounds like phosphorescence. Calcite is notorious... even used as physiological marker because of it. There are several sources with such properties, I do not know the list by heart... Canada is in for sure. Where does the rock come from? |
