Does it have a slight "fish oil" smell about it?

Perhaps, we could do some testing.
Do you have hardness points? What is the hardness of the unknown?
Do you have a polariscope?
Results?
Does it feel warm or cold on the tongue?

That was helpful. I vote for a hunk of glass or perhaps plastic.
The bubbles are pretty obvious.

Glass was my first thought when I originally saw your pics.

It could be amber, fill a bucket or appropriately sized container of water and add salt until the solution becomes saturated , then if it floats its amber and if it sinks it should be plastic.

(Don't get your hopes up, it isn't amber. Amber can have bubbles in, but they don't tend to be big and spherical.).

heat up a bent paper clip till red hot and poke it! if it smell's like burning wood its amber, if its acidic it is plastic, if you cannot poke it, its glass!
