Hello everyone. I am needing some help identifying what kind of turquoise that I have. I also wanted to really identify the smaller turquoise nuggets. I am not really sure that it is the real deal. I also would like to know, where i can send some samples to actually be tested to tell me exactly what/where it came from. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome aboard, Oblique! :D I think the first place I would take them is the geology/mineralogy department of my local college.

Some of those slabs, with the good spiderwebbing, look like #8 Mine big time. I have some sitting here on the cabbing bench now, lol.

My advice is to get a large bottle of acetone and soak a few representative samples. If reconstructed it will fall apart and turn the acetone light blue. Cheap and conclusive. Keep the lids on jars closed and no smoking.
