Sorry all, no photo was possible, but the big sapphire, found back in Feb this year, was 753cts, larger than a golf-ball, and was named the "Sapphire Princess". Supposedly of gem grade, but blue with green crosstable, typical of the "big stones" from these fields. It was found beside the road, close to the township of Rubyvale, by a local, out walking. If I can ever track down some photos, I'll post them. Barry

In other news....there has been a rash of locals stunning themselves while out for walks by running into low hanging branches while their eyes were on the ground.

Hi Barry apparently the 750ct stone was found on a mining claim on Goanna flats road. This stone is supposed to be on show at Pats Gems during the Gem Fest which starts next week. According to some of the local knowledge here it is a bomb with no gem quality, Still a big piece. I was at Pats tonight but will have to go back to see it. Cheers
