Not sure if this can be assimilated to a system ring, but you have this traditional type of "bague de foi" with two articulated joined hands opening to reveal a hidden heart...

To solve this puzzle, six linked rings need to be interlocked in the correct order so to reconstitute a wearable ring...which might be easier said than done.
