Isn't there supposed to be a "subscribe forum" button at the top of each forum (and each topic)? There is one at the top of each topic, but I can't find the button to subscribe to a forum. Am I missing something?

I don't clearly understand what you mean.

Gemology Online is the forum.
Individual threads can be subscribed to.
If you wish to "subscribe" to categories like Beginner's Only, that is not possible.

Is that what you mean? :)

The FAQ is a bit misleading on the subject.

Yes, as the previous poster said -- FAQs, quoted above, indicate that it's possible to subscribe to a specific forum, such as "Appraiser's Corner." However, it seems not to be the case. Pity! I have seen this kind of functionality on other sites using similar php BB code. It's very helpful.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Sorry you feel inconvenienced, NeilS.
This forum was custom designed using phpBB as a base..
Yours is the first complaint I've had about it.

Just visit us often, you never know if there is an unrelated topic which might have an interesting post or two.
:D

It was certainly not my intention to complain. Merely an observation. I assure you I don't feel inconvenienced!

You realize you CAN subscribe to interesting threads, right? That is for "Registered Users", 10+ posts. :D

Yes, thank you, I did realize that. It was the functionality of subscribing to individual forums that I was wondering about. But no problem -- I'll just visit all the more often!

If you visit daily, the "View new posts" feature provides a short enough list of threads that have changed.
