Gemstone Deposits of the United States by Pete Modreski of the USGS

Modreski is the United States Geological Survey’s Geologic Resource Specialist on Gemstones. Pete's Doctorate in Geochemistry has allowed him to contribute both to the gem and mineral worlds. He co-authored “Minerals of Colorado”, is a Research Associate in the Earth Sciences Department of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and is an Executive Editor of the Rocks and Minerals magazine. This evening will help you brush up on geological formations and their impact on the gems we find.

You need this lecture! We’ll see you there and bring a friend. Have a favorite mineral specimen? Bring it for show and tell.
