The American Society of Appraisers booth is the oldest appraisal society in the country, and the finest you can choose for fulfilling your desire to attain professional appraisal education, and the most prestigious professional titles to go with it.
I want to tell you of an upcoming opportunity to gain accreditation points towards the Accredited Member or Accredited Senior Appraiser designation, as well as fulfilling some of the requirements for certification as a Master Gemologist Appraiser®. That’s the GJ206 class offered June 6-8, right after the JCK show in Las Vegas, on the American Gem Society campus. It’s an intensive class in gems and jewelry appraising, and the best of its kind in a short format.
This year, the guest presenters are Peter Shemonsky, who will provide a “View from the Backside: Handmade or Not?” and John Ternus, opal dealer, on “Lightning Ridge Opal: Rough to Polished” with pictures and samples. Wednesday morning). The course includes a USPAP update and a detailed review of ASA reporting and writing standards with Mona Miller and Gary Smith. On the afternoon of the third day, the Master Gemologist Appraiser® practical examination will be given to first-time and renewing title holders.
There is no substitute for the personal attention and interaction that professional appraisers enjoy in this class. I hope you will attend! Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
