So you were some of the happy lucky few
It's seem that the event was really worth to see.

Anybody ready to make a short summarized of the abstracts ?

What about the clue to check the origin of the Andesin ?

Has somone got pictures of Spectacular Spectrolite ?

And so & so ?

There is NO way to confirm the origin of plagioclase with standard gemological instruments.

It was the best of the three that I've been to, but I have to say that the spinel event was pretty darn good. Here is a picture of a spinel octahedron bracelet from Bill Larson's collection.

That is stunning - thanks for the link - I have some sweet little octahedrons that I want to set - that is a great mounting!

I'd like to drive out to the Himalaya Mine on the following Sunday (the 18th); if anyone else would like to go, let me know.

Barbra - there is a "Two Tourmaline Mines in Two Days" fieldtrip that is part of the AFMS/CFMS Show and Convention in June.

There is a sizable discount on the price...Show info is here - Fieldtrips are listed at the end...

I went on an earlier version of this trip and if you want to know what is coming out of these locations - check out my blog:

Few handout (about 30) of the Sinkankas Symposium are still available.

Both "Spectacular Spectrolite" and Koivula's "Microworld of Gem Feldspars" are included in the handout of about 92 pages illustrated in full color.
The papers on "Chinese Andesine" does not exist inside.
They cost $25 per copy plus shipping.

For more information, contact Roger Merk : merksjade@cox.net

Have a nice day
Bruno
